My wish for the New Year is that a clean energy economy emerges from this recession, and that carbon emissions continue to decline at a very steady rate in 2010 and beyond.

Lightsavers is an international program currently evaluates real time use of outdoor LED lighting.  Launched by The Climate Group (UN), the program tests working outdoor LED models.  The Climate Group claims LED lighting can cut CO2 emissions on outdoor lighting by 50-70% all while reducing cost and light pollution.

ENERGY STAR has finalized eligibility criteria for Integral LED Lamps, dated December 3, 2009.  The effective date for the Integral LED Lamp criteria will be August 31, 2010.

Empowered with decades of experience and expertise in organizing trade exhibitions, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is reputed internationally for its outstanding performance.  The 2009 edition attracted over 1,500 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions, making this event one of the largest of its kind in Asia and the world.

The companies who sponsored and exhibited all offer some very unique products.  The speakers provided great information on subjects like LEED certification to grant information.  We will be back and hope to see you at the Build Green Conference 2010!

This program awards hospitals for making their facility mercury free. The 2006 AIA Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities also reference green building, the Green Guide, and LEED certifications. This means the healthcare industry helps lead the way in green technology and environmentally friendly solutions.
